An Opelousas, Louisiana, native will have her wine featured in an upcoming Tyler Perry movie.

Dawna Darjean Jones’ company Darjean Jones Wines will be appearing in Tyler Perry’s Nobody’s Fool. Jones launched the company in 2010 and lives in Texas.

Jones’ wines are featured in the movie as the choice of wine for its characters. A press release on the movie says that the brand’s inclusion is “part of a continuing trend by movie producers to include wine as part of its characters’ lifestyles, further making them relatable to audiences.”

“I’m honored that Darjean Jones Wines appeared in Tyler Perry’s Nobody’s Fool,” said Jones. “I identified deeply with the determination of the strong, female executive character. Growing up in southern Louisiana instilled within me a deep appreciation for food and drink, and I’ve poured so much of myself into my wines that success is the only option. I hope people truly experience ‘joie de vivre’-joy of living when they open our bottles.”

The movie featuring Jones’ brand is set to release November 2, 2018.

Jones graduated from Opelousas Senior High School and from Southern University in Baton Rouge with a bachelor’s degree in plant science. She also holds a doctorate in plant pathology from the University of California, Davis which cultivate her path towards the wine industry.
