Rosé has been the go-to wine of summer for the past few years. This summer, why not try a bottle from some of these excellent Black-owned labels? From California to France and beyond, Black-owned winemakers have been making excellent bottles of rosé by implementing sustainable farming practices and welcoming tasting-room experiences. The list of rosés below is your ticket to enjoy some of the best Black-owned wineries nationally and internationally. 2018 Abbey Creek Vineyard Rosé de Pinot ($25)
Abbey Creek Vineyard’s Rosé de Pinot from Oregon’s first Black vintner is unique in the sense that every taste brings something new. Each glass has notes of cranberries, sour cherries, citrus, and white flowers.
2018 Champagne Marie Cesair Cuvee Rosé Sec ($38)
Brother and sister Marie -Ines and Jaïro Romelle’s interest in wine, led them to launch their own brand, paying homage to their late father Cesaire. This lavish French cuvée is made from grapes of the world-famous Champagne Village of Eucleil. Pop the cork on this well-balanced pink brut to enjoy the sweet smell of red fruits and stimulating flavors. It’s perfect as an aperitif or with desserts.
2018 Darjean Jones Napa Valley Rosé ($26)

2019 Frichette Winery Rosé ($30)

The Black Girl Magic Collection is famed for what it represents; two sisters, two continents, one passion for wine. The name for the collection is inspired by the magic of Black women, an ode to Black culture, stories, and Black women’s resilience. With delightful acidity, mouthwatering fresh stone fruit, and citrus palate, this sophisticated dry Rosé has aromas of raspberry and orange blossom from the central coast of California.
2017 Stoney Wines Willamette Valley Rosé ($18)
Intense tarragon, lemon, and fresh strawberries are the notes in the first sip of this sustainably farmed Van Duzer AVA Pinot Noir Rosé from Donna Stoney, Oregon’s first Black female vintner.
2014 Theopolis Vineyards Rosé ($24)
Theopolis vineyard estate is famous for its award-winning wines and vintner. Theo-Patra. Rosé of Petite Syrah’s hue is a deep red berry that emits floral aromas of rose petals upon opening with tastes of cherries and cranberries.
2019 Longevity Wines Rosé ($24)
Using grapes sourced from Livermore Valley, vintner Phil Long’s ruby pink rosé of deb-ru-veé is delicate and fruity with aromas of strawberries, honeysuckle, and grapefruit as well as hints of crisp Washington red apples, lychee, and citrus.

2019 Okapi Jungle Love Vineyard Rosé ($32)
The warm and rich terroir of whole cluster Napa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are what give Okapi’s newly released rosé its acidity and balance. Owner and vintner Dan Johnson limits production to 300 cases per year to maintain sustainable farming practices.
